Life with Sanfilippo Syndrome is unique. Very few people truly understand what you are going through. So when families of children with Sanfilippo get together, there’s an overwhelming feeling of understanding, togetherness, and love.
Because these moments are so valuable, the Foundation is coordinating and hosting local family gatherings around the country this year.
It’s comforting to spend time with others who understand life with Sanfilippo and can relate. It’s like we are all family. And these hours together provide an overwhelming feeling of togetherness and love.

Held at We Rock the Spectrum in Shorewood, Illinois. Families from the midwest enjoyed coming together and spending time sharing.
Tampa, Florida – April 18, 2026

Columbia, South Carolina – May 2024
Six families who live in the Carolinas participated in the 2024 Super Eliza 5K and were able to spend together afterwards, enjoying the warm sunshine and a private pool.
Houston, Texas – November 2023
Seven Sanfilippo families from throughout Texas gathered at the Houston Zoo.
Minnesota, Minneapolis – July 2023
Six Sanfilippo families from the Twin Cities region, some driving several hours, gathered at a Minneapolis community play space.
Orlando – February 2023
The inaugural family gathering was help in Orlando, Florida, at Coco Key Orlando. Eleven area families attending, some driving a few hours to attend. It was a wondeful day.
Shoreview, Minnesota – July 22
The second Sanfilippo Family Gathering was held at the Shoreview Community Center.
