The owner of Sweet Zen Bakery in West Chester, PA, knows the mother of Connor Dobbyn and has decided to help fund Connor’s chance at life by donating a portion of proceeds of sales leading up to and including Mother’s Day 2023.

Posting to social media, Sweet Zen Bakery shared that Sanfilippo Syndrome, which Connor has, “is a degenerative brain disorder in children caused by a single missing enzyme. It’s like Alzheimer’s, but in children, and it’s 100% fatal. There is no treatment or cure currently.” Learn more about Sanfilippo.

The baker cites Connor’s mom Marisa as an inspiration. Saying, “The only thing in the way of finding a possible cure or treatment is funding. With Marisa’s and her family’s warrior efforts, a lot has been raised, but more is needed.”

For Mother’s Day, Sweet Zen Bakery is donating a percentage of retail sales from now until Mother’s Day to the Save Connor campaign to fund crucial Sanfilippo research.

Baked goods available include cookies and brownies, pies and tarts, cakes and cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, biscotti and scones, a “chocoholic tray,” and more. Sweet Zen Bakery will work with you to indulge the mother you are treating to make her feel special.
