October 25 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
You can help fund research to cure children with Sanfilippo Syndrome by attending the Oct. 25 “Sanfilippo Syndrome Benefit” in honor of Carter Korth. The event will take place at Darkbird Taphouse in Peosta, IA, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. The night will include a silent auction, raffle, food truck, and more. All proceeds will benefit Cure Sanfilippo Foundation’s mission to fund research to find a first-ever, FDA-approved therapy for children with Sanfilippo Syndrome.
At age 2, Carter was diagnosed with Sanfilippo Syndrome, which is a rare, terminal, genetic metabolism disorder. The genetic defect that causes Sanfilippo Syndrome prevents the body from breaking down certain carbohydrates, which leads to a the build up of cellular waste that damages the children’s entire bodies, especially the brain.
