Life with Sanfilippo Syndrome is really hard.
As parents, you’re exhausted, physically and emotionally. And it takes a constant toll on you. Cure Sanfilippo Foundation want to help and this is an area of most importance that is often neglected … the personal health and well being of the parents and families of children with Sanfilippo Syndrome.
A first of its kind: the Aurora Program
Cure Sanfilippo Foundation’s Aurora Program is a group support program to help you and your family with grief processing and resilience building.
All sessions are led by a licensed counselor with expertise in grief processing, traumatic stress, and wellness building, as well as personal experience with supporting families of children with Sanfilippo Syndrome.
The Aurora Program isn’t just talking about your struggles and pain. It’s about navigating your emotional ups and downs, building resilience, and finding a healthy way through.
This ongoing, counselor-led, emotional support program provided by the Foundation to its partner families at no cost to them. This includes families outside the U.S. All sessions are in English, so comfort with conversational English is needed.
If you are interested in becoming a Foundation partner family, please reach out to Contact@CureSanfilippoFoundation.org.
Current Sessions
Open Group Sessions
Open Groups are bi-weekly and ongoing 90-minute virtual sessions suited for parents who would like to participate in Aurora group sessions, but without the expectation of regular attendance. Come every session, occasionally, or only on the days you feel like you need support. You choose what works best for your life.
Available Open Group Sessions
A one-time registration is necessary to participate in each specific open group simply so the appropriate consent is collected. You can register right now, minutes before the next session, or in several weeks when you feel ready. Once registered, you will receive an immediate confirmation email with the link to join. That link will remain the same for every session. You can also register for as many of the groups that you find useful to you.
