November 2025 Sanfilippo Speak explores “total communication” with AAC

November 21, 2025
What is Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC)? What is “total communication”? How can AAC benefit both verbal and nonverbal communicators? How does the progression of Sanfilippo impact a person’s expressive communication skills and what can be done to help them?

Find out during the final Sanfilippo Speak of 2025. Sanfilippo Speak is the Foundation’s family-focused webinar series that provides Sanfilippo-specific insights around pivotal topics.

The November 2025 Sanfilippo Speak webinar features a wonderful therapy team working to implement and support Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) through a co-treatment modality. Hear from our ABA and Speech therapy team on how they make this work for a client with Sanfilippo syndrome.

Teressa has been in the field of ABA since 2012. She has her masters in Applied Behavior Analysis and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in 2018. She opened Behavior Highway- a small ABA agency covering San Gabriel and Inland Empire just wanting to provide better care and service to clients. Our emphasis is person centered approach and compassionate care.

Kaitlin received her Masters of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders from California State University, Fullerton. Her professional interests include play-based early intervention, preschool/school-aged language intervention, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Kaitlin is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a Certificate in Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Sanfilippo Speak is open to anyone who would find the information valuable. There is no cost to attend or registration required. Use the Zoom link in the comments on Nov. 12 at 12:00 p.m. ET to join.

A recording of the webinar is available on the Sanfilippo Speak page of the Foundation’s website afterward for on-demand access. Sanfilippo Speak will resume in January.
