Giving Tuesday 2023 fundraising total … $324,753 raised!

Families of children with Sanfilippo Syndrome engaged their communities and personal networks around the country and world, joining Cure Sanfilippo Foundation in collectively fundraising $324,753 for research to cure this terminal disease on Giving Tuesday 2023.

“The response is absolutely incredible. So much generosity and kindness,” said Foundation President Glenn O’Neill. “We are humbled and inspired, energized and thankful. Thankful for this help in fighting for children with Sanfilippo. Once again, you’ve answered the call. You bring HOPE to so many families and children. Thank you!”

The Giving Tuesday total includes all donations made to family fundraisers on social media, via the Foundation’s website, a handful of checks, a stock donation, and more.

The Foundation received two matching gift offers to support the Giving Tuesday 2023 campaign. They came from two family foundations, one match was for $100,000 and the other was for $25,000. Because of people’s generosity, every dollar of the matches was utilized, doubling the impact.

Families shared their heartfelt thanks with donors via social media.

“Look at that grand total from all the families! What an INCREDIBLE community of parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, extended family and friends rallying around some amazing kids. The one blessing of Sanfilippo Syndrome is that Liv has no idea she has it. In my heart I know she realizes she’s special and knows how much we love her. We will continue to fight for you Liv,” posted Erin, mom of Olivia, on Facebook.

“Community, we’ve been blessed with the best and the kindest … We’re grateful that four years since diagnosis, you’re still with us. We forge ahead, continuing to raise awareness and support towards a cure,” posted Jennifer, mom of Oliver, on Facebook.

“You all are incredible! … Words can’t express our gratitude, but I can tell you that days like these give our family and many other Sanfilippo families a lot of HOPE! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for continuing to support Kinley!” posted Brandon, dad to Kinley, on Facebook.
